Showcases referring to the Peasants' Wars

The Schneeburg castle near Freiburg is taken by a contingent of the peasants in May 1525 (Diorama 6)

Schneeburg castle was built in the 13 century probably by the lords of Hornberg. Since 1349 Schneeburg castle belonged to the Ebringen estate of St. Gallen monastery. Before 1500 the castle became derelict after the residence of the local ruler (Sitz der Ortsherrschaft) had been transferred to Ebringen village. There is no reference for the assertion that the castle was destroyed by the peasants during the siege of Freiburg in 1525.
